All 15 new couples returned to the Strictly Ballroom in person and performed to maintain their place in the competition. The first week’s rankings are still valid because the judges’ scores are carried over from the previous week. This was the first results show of the series, and it opened with a group medley in tribute to Tina Turner.
All 15 couples will know the results of the first public vote and the two couples with the lowest scores will compete against each other.

Believe it or not, it’s not long until Strictly season as the country’s favorite dance show returns for its 21st series in early autumn.
Strictly Come Dancing is a celebrity talent show in which 15 celebrities are paired with professional dancers, with the latter having to teach the former how to dance. They dance weekly and one couple is voted in each week through a combination of judges’ scores and public voting until the finale, which is decided solely by public voting. The final is expected to have 4 couples (3 couples in the previous series) but there may be less if someone drops out.
Strictly Come Dancing returned for its twenty-first series with a launch show on 16 September 2023 on BBC One, with live shows set to begin on 23 September 2023.
There’s no change to the presenting line-up, with long-standing Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman both set to return for the forthcoming series.
Ultimately, the 2023 panel will remain the same as the last few years, with Shirley returning as Head Judge alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
Step 1: You can sign-in directly from the Strictly homepage during the show. Alternatively, you can sign-in any time at bbc.com/signin.
Step 2: When the vote is open, it will appear at the top of the Strictly homepage. If you can’t see it, try refreshing the page.
Step 3: Once you’ve allocated all your votes you won’t be able to press the ‘+’ button anymore. If you’re happy with how your votes are allocated then click ‘Submit X Votes’ at the bottom.
In the Final, our superstar couples will be dancing more than once so don’t forget to wait to vote until you’ve seen all their spectacular routines, as once your votes are gone, they’re gone!
